The last stop of my Beijing Trip, it’s the QIANMEN DAJIE.
Qianmen Dajie (Dajie = Main Street) started developing in the 15th century. It has been a traditional commercial district in Beijing. Qianmen Dajie is at the south of Tiananmen Square, Central Axis of Beijing. The end of Qianmen Dajie is the Zhengyangmen, the southern entry into the Inner City of old Beijing walled city. In the Qing Dynasty, it was the most lively place in Beijing. Many time-honoured brands started their business in Qianmen Dajie. In 2004, to prepare for the 2008 Beijing Olympic, Qianmen Dajie underwent a large scale renovation. Old buildings were renovated, street was tidied, and the style remained the same. Today, we feel like going back to the ancient China in Qianmen Dajie.
來到北京的最後一站，這是前門大街。前門大街擁有數百年歷史，一直都是北京的傳統商業旺區。它位於北京城中軸線上，盡處正是北京內城城門正陽門，是北京外城最主要的街道。在清朝，這裡就正是北京城最熱鬧的地方，很多北京百年老店都在這裡開業，更延續至今。2004年，為了迎接北京奧運，前門大街進行大修，這次大修除了修繕破舊的舊房子，整頓街道，同時保留了前門大街當初的風貌。今天，我們踏入前門大街時，就仿如回到明清時代的北京城。
