Old to New
We have been finger painting for many years now. I started Abbi doing this activity as a therapy of sorts. I thought she needed to have some art in her life. It allows her use her arms and fingers to create something on her own as much as possible. We will let her have choices of alternate activities to keep variety in her days. Keeping her moving is helpful to her having less contracture of her limbs.
Back to the painting and what she paints on. We started with paper then changed to canvas with finger paints of many colors. The canvas is affordable but to frame it is not that easy. So I thought to take some old frames, add some canvas that can fit into the old frames and have Abbi paint them.
I have a couple ready for the next time she wants to paint. The two smaller ones in the photo below are for Abbi.
The larger one I am making plans for still Abbi has never done one so large, That will be in another post.
I used a spray adhesive and fabric that I cut to fit the frames back boards see Supplies below.
This frame had a wood piece that I glued the fabric to. The Frame I am going to paint myself after Abbi paints the new canvas.
The smaller frame I had to make a board to fit and cover with the canvas.
I am hoping Abbi decides to paint soon. Her mother is visiting Wednesday this week. May be we can paint with her.
Have a nice day
Look for something old to make new in your world.
Love to all
