It is said that the Phoenix bird can live 1400 years until the next rebirth of its ashes.
This painting was a commission and is a mixture of symbols. I do not remember exactly what was in my head when I painted, but the main reason is obvious, the Phoenix bird, or the Egyptian equivalent of Bennu, solar bird observed in some respects to be similar to the Greek phoenix.
As at that time I was very captivated by Egyptian culture, I think my bird is one that lived most certainly in Heliopolis than in ancient Greece.
In any case, the person who ordered the painting changed her mind. This is not something new in art field. But in the end, the painting belongs to somebody else.
Sort story of a happy painting which I consider more as a piece of art therapy. :)
