Hey everyone, it's been 2 weeks into the new year already and I decided to start doing more of something that I normally don't do much which is blogging. Even though I'm not the best content creator I've been trying to put a lot of time down to create content, not only cause the recent spike in SBD which has caused a lot of other authors to post a lot as well, but also because there is an insane amount of newcomers joining the platform and it's good to remain active during times like these.
The SBD spike has been nice for content creators anyway, to me personally it has been a great opportunity to increase the amount of SP I own and it saddens me to often see people just dump the SBD and never power anything up - I feel it shows a way of ungratefulness towards the platform and that they may not believe in it's future. It's not like they are cashing it out to pay taxes anyway - it's probably going towards other currencies which I don't really get personally. Ever since the first spike I've been buying Steem with it cause it seemed obvious to me that Steem was the next one to blow up even though it was lagging behind compared to the other currencies - and it did. So the SBD spike made it possible for me to not only profit from that but also profit from the Steem spike up right after, but that doesn't matter to me much right now how much I profit as my main goal is to increase my SP so I can use it for good in the future of the platform and to spread the distribution as wide as possible and I really respect many others on the platform who do the same.
Some users may see my recent posting activity and call it greedy or spammy, but not many others out there are putting in as much time into the platform and value back into Steem as I am. At least according to statistics that I've been looking through, anyway... Steem had an awesome start into the new year, it was almost unbelievable. Then again for many who saw it coming and are aware that Steem may be lagging behind a bit like it usually does on uptrends of most altcoins it was expected even though maybe not all the way up to $8.
I still have a lot of plans for the platform in the works and currently been over 5 days without smoking to try and clear my mind and become more active and increase the pace to work on these projects I have unfinished. There are also some changes coming to both and
soon. A lot of things to do, it feels like the more people join and the higher the price of Steem gets the more stressful it becomes, even curating. That is to be expected though in a way and I'm hoping to be able to get back to it fully ASAP. While I'm trying to stay away from smoking I've been mainly focusing on gaming lately to keep my mind at one thing and one thing alone. It's been working pretty well so far so I hope my cravings will go away soon even though I am aware they won't be going away fully for a long time.
This year I think will be very interesting in the crypto markets, I think many coins that barely have any usage or potential have been mooning hard due to the big amount of newcomers and new money flowing into cryptos this year and I expect many corrections to come. People have been gambling with coins a lot and the mainstream adoption has increased that number by a huge factor. The top 50-100 will change quite a lot in the coming months and with the mainstream adoption there will be a big amount of new ICO's and projects popping up that will have huge potentials with serious teams and they will be making their ways into the top as well. With bigger amount of users in the blockchain space lately it also means that prices and positions will be able to change drastically quickly.
It will be an exciting year and I can't wait for all the new stuff that lay ahead for Steem with SMT's and communities.
