NextColony is a game of resources, like The Settlers of Catan board game, but without your brother-in-law's almost ritual table flip when he rage quits.
The most important of these NextColony resources is time. You know about time; that unrelenting and crushing area between now and then, the doomed and gravelly road we all travel like captives, the restless waiting that makes all other resources possible.
I am playing a few strategies that will, I hope, conserve time and pay off in the long run. Maybe these strategies can work for new players also.
First, I waste no harvested resources. In the process of leveling up my Explorer, I ran across issues of overfilling to the cap some resources while waiting for others. I simply stopped, levelled up mines or depots, and then went back to my Explorer.
It took quite a bit longer before I could start searching for new planets, but those resources were not lost and the raised levels are helping me now.
Second, while I sleep for six or eight hours, I send out an explorer for an equivalent duration. During the day, I search near my alpha and at night I search further out. Of course, this is only relevant early in the hunt. Eventually, all searches will extend longer than your wife's dissappointment in you for buying Steem at $6.00.
Third, I work continuously with my Ouija board to hex my enemies and send catastrophic negative energies throughout the universe. Why not? It is every Demon for himself out here, even for a pot smoking peacenik like myself.
Thank you for reading.
