When I woke up the other day I heard the words, “Spirit of adoption.” I asked the Lord what do You want me to understand about this? I heard the Lord say, “The Spirit of adoption is expressed by adopting each other where the heart of Abba is revealed.” As I was meditating, I further heard, “The two major attributes of adoption are responsibility and care. Will you be willing to go beyond the surface of just acquaintances and be family by adopting each other? Are you willing to be responsible and care as your brother's keeper?”
I say yes, how about you?
Family, may we go beyond the surface into the deep waters of risk and trust in relationship. It is not comfortable, and will even cost us our self-preservation, but maybe the effort of intentionality will turn into something authentic and life-giving—IN CHRIST. Selah.
“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” Rom. 8:15
