I'm not fond of making some New Year's resolutions but there's no harm in making one. Something I learned from reading self help books and positive meditation topics is that setting a goal for yourself is better than having none. While you may likely end up not meeting these goals, these still function as obstacles to keep you from continuing habits you plan on changing. It's that psychological aspect of telling yourself to say no and just do better next time.
The only benefit in making a New Year's resolution is that the holiday season has a positive effect on your emotions. It gives you a sense of empowerment to have goals made attached to positive events surrounding you. This makes the pact more memorable. Resolutions can just be empty promises but the bottom line is that you're the only promising yourself and breaking that agreement.
Only you can have the strongest impact on negotiating with yourself. When you plan on something, when you want to do it, when you say no, and how you bargain with yourself because who else can stand with your bs but you?
I'm making this post to help me with a future throwback. The beauty about the blockchain is that it records everything and I plan on documenting a lot of what goes on with my practice, life, thoughts, or anything I feel like sharing under the sun. People may not be reading my blogs and that's fine, everyone is busy minding their own business, but for people that bother to read my posts, thank you for your time. I appreciate it.
For 2021, I plan on accomplishing some feasible goals like:
Shopping for a life insurance policy and planning a better retirement fund.
I failed to push through my old policies due to financial constraints but I always knew there is value in having them. Now that I would be able to generate more cashflow from my job, this goal is attainable. The pandemic screwed my side gigs paying for the policies. I'm excited to see more options available to for 2021 especially on cryptoinvesting.
Get better at digital art.
I dedicated my activities on Hive for the purpose of getting better at things I'm passionate about. Art has always been something I was interested in. I said this several times already but I want to reach a level where I can do commissioned work with confidence. Beyond just doing regular tattoo designs, I want to scale up to painting and other forms of digital art. If I get there soon, I may dwell into animation too.
Post more on Hive.
This place has been a big part of my cryptofinance education. I get more news about tokens here faster from reliable sources and veteran cryptoenthusiasts. I treat this place as a hobby I can earn from and not a lifeline or work. I also like the communities I'm involved in thinking each day this platform is evolving for the better despite the set backs its been having. I'm optimistic about Hive and I think it's undervalued.
Buy more equipment for content creation.
I'm considering cashing out some of my tokens for purchasing a Wacom One or Wacom Cintiq 16 . This would help me with digital content creation. But I'm not too keen on selling my tokens anytime soon. There's building a fund for getting a better gaming PC and sound recording equipment for my spending next year.
Invest more time on education.
Not just for my professional career but other topics I'm also passionate about. I like finance and teaching ways to get financial freedom to others as I learn something new. The best investment I can think of is getting more opportunities for growth and marketable skill set. You can never go wrong about investing in your growth because it leads to other opportunities.
2020 has been a rough year for everyone but I hope it doesn't instill permanent gloom on your spirit. You need to struggle as long as you keep on living and find meaning to what you're struggling for. Purpose follows soon after.
I'll look back on this post in the future for throwback reasons. I will evaluate what I have accomplished in the following year and then ponder on what needs to be done after. This blockchain can do more than just give you money. It can be part of the witnesses of your life where it can continue to exist until the last node gets shutdown.
