Like last year’s post prior to the new year, I wanted to put this out so my future self can cringe about it later on. It’s only a few hours before the new year comes at my time zone while I write this. I’ll probably be looking at a microscope or doing something work related. Hopefully the people at the lab behave themselves and tone down some referrals. I got a nephrectomy specimen came in at the last minute and already seeing tomorrow’s dissection to be laborious.
This year didn't turn out too bad. It couldn't been worse but it leaned more on good things happening often despite all the worldly drama unfolding. I did accomplish most of my goals from last year so I got that going for me which is nice.
I do look back on my old posts just to reflect on some stuff I’ve been doing for the past year. I’ll likely review this post when the next year will be nearing its end as well.
Just some silly list I came up for next year’s goal setting:
Get Better at My Job
I’ve been doing it half assed even if I committed more hours to the work more than anyone else in the office. A lot of my time has been spent dragging myself to do something that actually doing it and this dents my productivity. I’m suited for the job and got no complaints to where I’m at, just got distracted with multiple priorities like cryptoinvesting.
Trying to Finish my 2021 Backlogs
I have done all but one on the list of my financial goals and it was originally on the top spot. There were some stuff that got in the way like salary delays and questioning job security that made accomplishing that difficult. Everything else is fine despite some setbacks.
More Consistency in Organizing my Blog
I scanned through the list of posts I made throughout the year and it what a load disappointment these have been. For the most part, all have been ok but some shitposts were best left posted under a different account. I’m not talking about the rewards. I’m talking about the stuff I share under this account as a hobby blogger.
I think most people don’t really mind what clutter they post under their blogs but it matters to me. Whenever I try to introduce Hive to friends, they’ll scan through the stuff I share and immediately gauge what I’ve been up to which most of the time they can’t relate. So I think having some alts to segregate some topics I want to post about helps because I expect people that follow me got interested off one topic and get disappointed finding out I got other topics also interested in.
Why the hell is this even a big deal? Well I personally find it a pet peeve to follow random authors because they do post niche content I happen to like but then some they start experimenting with other types of content I’m not interested in, it kinda clutters my feed. And I assume some also have this mindset but don’t want to press the unfollow button because it triggers an unpleasant notification.
Explore More Ways to Create Content.
I’m just hobby blogging and it happens to earn me some kickbacks. But it’s been a side interest to explore being a content creator, comic creation, podcasts, video editing and animation. I’m not saying I’ll do all next year but I’ll definitely be exploring more ways to produce content AS A HOBBY. There’s a difference between posting to get some funds for daily necessities versus just doing what you like and incidentally get tips for it.
Consuming a lot of content made me like the idea of creating content so even without the monetary rewards I’ll still be drafting and doing stupid shit on the sidelines because I like art.
Cheers to 2022 for everyone!
If you made it this far reading, thank you for your time.
