So do you want to invest in LEGO but don't know where to start? Well this is going to the video for you. Today I will outline some of the best tips for having good success when it comes to LEGO Investing!
NOTE: This is meant for sets that have either very recently retired or are listed as retiring soon on the LEGO website. It will not work very well for long since retired sets or brand new sets.
Check Brickset - Has the set retired? (also double check on the LEGO website). How long has it been retired (if any amount of time) and what is/was the shelf life of the set?
Check Google shopping, looking for a low supply of retailers such as supermarkets, large toy shops selling the product, the fewer the better.
Check Amazon price, sales rank and number of FBA offers using the seller app. Is the set selling for a good percentage above retail price?
Similar to the above, check ebay data this time both the current prices and number of active listed products to judge supply and work out the average sold price by selecting the sold listing option. Again you want to see the set selling for above retail price.
Search for the product wherever you can. Local supermarkets, toy shops, the 100th page of Google, the sky is the limit. Also remember to try to find the biggest discount on the product to mitigate your risk.
