Oatmeal is almost everyone’s favorite. It is a great option to have it as a breakfast. Loaded with fiber and essential vitamins and minerals, it is my favorite and I eat every day as my breakfast. Although it is my favorite breakfast, I sometimes feel like having something easy to make and different. So I learned this recipe from the internet and would like to share with you so that you can start your day with a healthy breakfast.
For this recipe, you need milk of any kind. I prefer almond and sometimes full cream milk. But its totally your choice. You need oats. I prefer steel cut oats because they are not processed or little processed when compared to another form of oats such as quick and instant oats. Moreover, they do have relatively less impact on insulin spikes, also you can replace oats with quinoa. And you need cinnamon, apple, shredded coconut and berries of your choice. You can add honey or coconut sugar if you want to. I personally don’t like over sweetness as we get more from fruits we are adding in. You can also add butter and salt.
Now the process. Add in the milk of your choice to a pot. Add a little amount of butter, cinnamon, shredded coconut, and a little amount of cardamom. This mixture gives you a delicious aroma. Mix them well. Then put that pot on the stove and bring the mixture to a boil. Meanwhile, chop two apples into small pieces. After you noticed that the mixture is ready, then add the chopped apples and two cups of steel cut oats, and nuts of your choice, and raisins. I prefer almonds, walnuts, and dried cranberry. Mix them well. Then transfer your mixture to preheat oven and bake for 30 minutes at 350F. Don’t forget to use an oven safe pan.
You will get sweet and healthy oatmeal, and you can again add few nuts on the top. Enjoy the tasty delicious oatmeal as breakfast. Don’t go for processed breakfast as it is the important meal of the day. Taking maximum nutrients and minerals during your breakfast is a good idea as far as I am concerned
