The Magaliesberg Mountains
Hiking in the Magaliesberg Mountains of South Africa. This mountain range runs 150 km westwards and northwards from Pretoria. From Bronkhorstspruit in the East to Rustenburg in the West. They form a natural barrier between the Highveld Grasslands in the South and the Bushveld Savannah to the north.
There are many places to go hiking or just day walks.
A distinctive attraction to these mountains are the many kloofs that cut up the Mountain Range, providing a place to cool off in the summer and sweet mountain water all year round.
There are still pockets of Wild Life in these mountains and a few protected areas where wildlife flourishes. In this photo you can see a Blue Wildebeest in the background.
