The first of our many swims in the Sea of Galilee. Also called Kinneret, Lake of Gannesaret, of Lake Tiberias.
This is a Fresh Water Lake. It has a circumference of about 53 km, about 21 km long and 13 km wide. It is 212 m below sea level.
The River Jordan flows into it in the north, and out in the south.
The Rocky shore of the Sea of Galilee. It was along this shore that the Savior walked and called the fishermen, Peter, James and John at the start of His ministry. It was also on this shore that He appeared to them after His Resurrection.
