Happy Good Friday and Happy Easter everyone.
I know some of you do not celebrate Easter and probably do not celebrate Good Friday either.
If that is the case, well I hope you have good days either way as well.
To me, Easter and Good Friday are very important days.
Not because they are spiritual days, I wouldn't classify myself as spiritual or religious, I would classify myself as a Christ follower.
Which goes right along with everything that Easter and Good Friday represent.
You see, Good Friday is celebrated as the day that Jesus Christ died on the cross for all of our sins, all the sins of the world.
Then on Sunday we celebrate Easter which is in remembrance of him rising from the dead on the 3rd day.
That is the key to everything.
If Jesus didn't really rise from the dead then everything else about Christianity basically falls apart.
He becomes a magician and a lunatic to be honest as he claimed he was the son of God many times.
However, given that he did rise again, these two days provide much hope and rejoicing that my future is set.
While you are out celebrating with your families this weekend, be sure to keep in mind what we are really celebrating here and be sure to whisper a little "thanks" to the big guy upstairs.
I know I will.
