Recientemente mi sobrino tuvo un evento en su escuela en el cual tenía que representar a Venezuela, en ese momento su mami y yo nos percatamos que ninguna tenía nada del tricolor de nuestra patria.

Good morning hivers and sewing lovers, today I came with 2 flash tutorials, these are one of those things that come out at the moment when you are involved in more than one project.
Recently my nephew had an event at his school in which he had to represent Venezuela, at that time his mommy and I realized that none of them had any of the tricolor of our country.

Pero recordé que había comprado tela de esos colores porque deseo hacer una muñeca de mi país, fue así como solucionamos. Hice una trenza tricolor la cual usó como cinturón, sin embargo es buenísima para decorar cintillos, cojines y todo lo se te ocurra. Lo primero que hice fue cortar 3 piezas de cada color con las medidas siguientes 8 cm de ancho por 120 cm de largo.

But I remembered that I had bought fabric in those colors because I wanted to make a doll from my country, so that's how we solved the problem. I made a tricolor braid which my nephew used as a belt, however it is great to decorate headbands, cushions and everything you can imagine. The first thing I did was to cut 3 pieces of each color with the following measures 8 cm wide by 120 cm long.

Luego, doble a la mitad y por el revés cosí todo el largo de las 3, todo con una costura recta, cerrando uno de los lados y por allí les di vuelta con ayuda de un pincel. Después junté las 3 puntas y las cosí con la misma puntada, allí tejí la trenza como me hacían mis clinejas para el colegio, la misma técnica. Y, finalmente con unas puntadas a mano cerré la punta final procurando que no se vieran las costuras en ningún lado, y así quedó la trenza decorativa.

Then, I folded them in half and sewed the whole length of the 3 ends with a straight stitch, closing one of the sides and then I turned them over with a brush. Then I joined the 3 ends together and sewed them with the same stitch, there I wove the braid as my girlfriends used to do for school, the same technique. And finally, with a few hand stitches I closed the final end, making sure that the seams were not visible on any side, and that's how the decorative braid was left.

Ahora vamos al tutorial para forrar el botón, esta vez, hacía una camisa de una muñeca y para cerrarla no tenía algo que combinara, entonces decidí forrar el botón, es muy sencillo. Lo primero es recortar un círculo de tela 2 veces el tamaño del botón, coser a mano o bastear por todo el borde como luego puse el botón en el medio cerré el círculo de tela frunciendo la costura, así queda el boton forrado, lo demás fue asegurar la costura y limpiar los excesos y listo hivers ¿que les pareció el doble tutorial?
