Few weeks ago, this happens: There was no problem on your computer. You turned it off and you go home. But when you turned it on the following day the monitor says "out of range".
You tried to restart your computer several times and it worked.
After a few days it happens again, you just restarted your computer several times and it worked again like a charm.
But after a few days it happens again. This time restarting your computer does not fix the error, your monitor is always saying "out of range".
When it comes to the "out of range" error in computer monitors the most common cause of the error is resolution of the video software of the computer.
It happens when someone chooses a display resolution that does not supported by the computer's monitor.
Another cause of the error
But there's another cause of the error that I found out. And it's not on the display resolution of the computer but on the monitor itself.
I can confirm this because it already happened to me on five the same monitor brands that I am handling.
Same scenario, the user turns-off the computer. But when they are about to turn-on the computer on the following day it says, "Out of range".
Again, same scenario, users does not change anything on the display settings of their computer. Also, restarting the computer does not fix the error.
I tried to change their monitor and it worked. And when I am about to test their monitor on another computer it doesn't work either and the out of range error is still being displayed.
Conclusion
99% percent of the time the out of range error is caused by a display resolution that is not supported by the monitor or by a faulty video driver and or by a faulty video card.
I also do confirm that when the monitor's compatibility on a certain video resolution is broken it will display an "out of range" error just like on what I experience.
How to fix it
Immediately use another monitor for testing to save you time. Also test the monitor in question by installing it on another computer.
If the monitor in question also does not work on another computer you can safely say that the monitor in question is faulty.
