Last week I minted my 1st piece on NFTShowRoom, in the process I learned some things that can only be learned by testing. (Yeah I'm the type who reads FAQs a bunch of times.) In my article, I provided my background as an artist, read that if you're new to my art.
Decided to do something different for my second art piece. I wrote dozens of short of stories in the last 10 years. Most of them are in Arabic only but some, especially the recent ones are in English. I used to draw covers for these stories, and one of the best ones I drew was the cover for The Tiger Boy.
The art is named "Omar the Tiger (عمر النمر) on NFTShowRoom. That's my older name for the story but it's not the one in the image itself: "The Tiger Boy (الفتى النمر.)" A typical
mistake. Have to get used to the fact that minted art can't be edited.
About the NFT Art
(NFTShowroom Page)
It's the first of 3 cover arts of my older stories that I wanted to mint on NFTShowroom, and after the less than optimal first minted piece. I wanted to try something different with this one.
I wanted it to be Super Rare so I only made one edition of it. Depending on the feedback I might do this to all my webcomics/stories covers I'm planning to have on NFTShowroom in the future.
About the Story Itself
The Tiger Boy (الفتى النمر) was my best written work by 2014. My third favorite overall by 2020. While I see many problems with it now, I still feel more enjoyment than embarrassment when I re-read it. (Something I can't say about most of my earlier works.)
The story is set in a Sci-fi version of Libya, advanced technologically but not so much that it changed the whole culture of the country. The story follows a young gamer (Yusuf) who encounters a strange guy (Omar) who doesn't remember much except that he's looking for someone.
This story was written as a prologue to a story I had in my mind set in the same world. It focused on the characters and not the world building despite the fact that I had a the history and future of the world in mind as I wrote it. The main story set after this one was never written, (yet.) For now, The Tiger Boy is its own main story.

It is in Arabic only though.
I know my community here doesn't understand Arabic. So if there was enough of a demand I will try to translate the story to English. But it's too long and too embedded in the Arabic culture to bother translating it myself. Contact me if you're interested in translating any of my stories!
When I write my stories in Arabic or English, I would use expressions that would sound awkward/strange in the other language. Translating requires more effort than swapping the words with literal meaning, it's also the reason I often stick to one language with each work.
Have any thoughts? let me know!
Planning on going back to drawing! Just a little more~
