The photograph of Silvie, taken by Paz Aldern, floats in space above the earth for 51 years, is on sale for £ 1,200, equivalent to about $ 1,600.
Aldern took the first Sylvie photograph in space while performing the Gemini 12 mission in November 1966, when Aldern spent about five and a half hours outside the spacecraft on 3 missions.
During that time, Aldern was able to shoot the stars and also found the time to take a picture of him.

The owner of the "Gemini 12" photo collection decided to display the image for sale starting at the price of £ 1,200 at an auction to be held on September 14.
The 87-year-old Aldern, wearing a helmet, can see his forehead and eyes with a piece of earth in blue in the background, and at the bottom of the picture shows the Maurer serial camera used to photograph activities outside spacecraft during missions.
"This picture came from a private salesman whose father owned a collection of 50 photographs from the Gemini 12 mission," said Valentina Bourgui, a specialist at London's Bloomsbury auction that will sell the picture.
Aldern has stated several times that he was the first to launch the spacecraft, including on the 49th anniversary of the Gemini 12 mission, on 12 November 2015.
