ENG - ENG - Who is a good commander? "A good commander is benevolent and indifferent to fame." This sentence is attributed to Sun Tzu, writer of the reference book "The art of war", general and philosopher of ancient China.
Perhaps this phrase helps to frame what a good commander should be. Do not looking for his own glory but thinking generously about the good of the group. This type of personality today perhaps becomes increasingly rare. The prominent characters tend to pursue fame and their interest. Certainly a good commander must know how to assert his self, but who to respect more if not a person of honor?
From here comes a spontaneous question, what kind of commander would we like to be?
I tried to represent this concept in the drawing that I leave you below where I wanted to draw an aerial battle scene of the Second World War. As a child I often watched "Memphis Belle", a film that tells the story of a crew of a bomber who reachet to accomplish 25 missions and then receive the leave, as from protocol and without suffering losses (very few have succeeded). I unveil a small detail, the plane hit and that is moving away is a Messerschmitt BF-109 of the German army. Will the English driver have done well between him and his compatriot?

ITA - Chi è un buon comandante? "Un buon comandante è benevole e indifferente alla fama." Questa frase è attribuita a Sun Tzu, scrittore del libro riferimento "L'arte della guerra", generale e filosofo dell'antica Cina.
Forse questa frase aiuta a inquadrare quello che un buon comandante deve saper fare. Non cercare la propria gloria ma pensa generosamente al bene del proprio gruppo. Questo tipo di personalità oggi forse diventa sempre più rara. I personaggi di spicco tendenzialmente cercano la fama e il loro interesse prima di tutto. Certo un buon comandante deve sapersi fare rispettare, ma chi rispettare di più se non una persona d'onore?
Da qui nasce una domanda spontanea, che tipo di comandante vorremmo essere noi?
Ho cercato di rappresentare questo concetto nel disegno che vi lascio qui sotto dove ho voluto disegnare una scena di battaglia aerea della seconda guerra mondiale. Da piccolo guardavo spesso "Memphis Belle", film che narra le vicende di un equipaggio di un bombardiere che riesce a compiere 25 missioni e quindi a ricevere il congedo come da protocollo senza subire perdite (in pochissimi ci sono riusciti). Svelo un piccolo particolare, l'aereo colpito e che si sta allontanando è un Messerschmitt BF-109 dell'esercito tedesco. Avrà fatto bene il pilota inglese a mettersi tra lui e il suo compatriota?
