Hi everyone,
Desert beaches with crystal clear water and caves. That's what this post is about!
I would like to share my boat trip through Algarve's coast, starting from Portimao until the famous Benagil caves. The trip also included a part where we would see dolphins swimming up close but unfortunately they didn't show up. Still, it was an amazing trip. The boat's name was Manguito. It cost 30euros per person and the duration of the tour was approximately 2 and a half hours. Some smaller crews with smaller boats managed to stop at these magnificent beaches but our boat was too big and would be stuck in the sand so it couldn't go that close. Still at the end we were given the chance to take a dive in the middle of the sea next to the caves, a wonderful experience though the water was pretty cold!
Swimming in the middle of the sea really makes you feel small. It only makes you respect the sea even more!
I'll share some photos below, hope you enjoy them :)
A beautiful and desert beach, you could only go there if you had a boat
The entrance to a cave
The inside view of one of the caves, which had a hole so we could see the sunlight pass through. Pretty awesome effect.
The entrance to a "secret" beach
After we passed the entrance to that same small beach
View from the inside of one the caves
Finally, Benagil's cave, the most famous in the area. On the photos throughout the internet it makes it seem it's a desert beach but it actually had plenty of people. They could swim from a beach right next to it so it had a relatively easy access. Try to search on google for "benagil cave" and see the differences. Photos are completely photoshopped to try and attract tourists. It's not that I didn't like it, but it was different than one would expect!
Hope you enjoyed it. I uploaded these pictures to steemimg first. If you want to be sure this is original content just use some kind of reverse image search. You won't find any of these photos online anywhere else. Well, before the date of this post at least.
Thanks and happy travelling!
