Greetings my beautiful people of #liketu, I hope you are all enjoying good health. I rarely share memories, but today I was vaguely checking my Facebook and I came across a project for college that I have been completely in love with. About 9 or maybe 10 years ago, my culture tutor has asked the group of students to study an ethnic group from any country or region, in order to give us feedback and learn about new cultures as studied. This was a group project and my good friend Jenifer and I wanted to study a native tribe of our country, and we chose the Warao ethnic group located in the state of Sucre, in Venezuela, more specifically in the town of Guariquen.
We did everything humanly possible to get to the locality, but Guariquen is a very rugged area, where almost no vehicles travel because the road is made of clay and mud, and to reach the indigenous community you have to transfer to a bus and this rarely works. Even so, my companion and I documented ourselves very well and made interviews to several local historians and we obtained very good information that served us to exalt and to be able to recreate the culture and the gastronomic, artisan, spiritual, dance, weaving, goldsmithing and pottery customs of the Warao ethnic group. Above all about their style, the role of the leader of the community "the cacique" and the duty of the women and men who represent the cultural gentilicio of one of our first civilizations in my country Venezuela. We also relied on a group of children to dance to the rhythm of the rattles and maracas.
