Papilio demoleus, commonly known as the lemon butterfly or lime butterfly, is a swallowtail butterfly belonging to the family Papilionidae, distributed worldwide. Anyone who sees this beautiful butterfly will be amazed. Even the larvae of this butterfly have a shape with gorgeous patterns.
Recently I noticed a caterpillar or butterfly larva on a lime tree in my yard. So fat and chewy! Additionally, I found a pupa estimated to be about a week old (young pupae are always green, while this one has turned black with yellow patterns) and will likely metamorphose into an adult butterfly soon.
I want to see firsthand how the final stage of metamorphosis works, but I'm not sure if I'll have the chance.
