More and more people are getting together at The Magic Monkey Hostel to discuss, learn and celebrate Bitcoin and Blockchain technology. As I mentioned in a previous post, we started a local initiative call "Floripa: Ilha da Crypto Magia" - the crypto magic island - a slogan to make our local context a more friendly place for these new technologies and advantages.

We understand the challenge for the crypto economy to reach places like Brazil and South America, so we got together to starts a series of talks about how to use the cryptocurrency and blockchain for the benefit of our community, a beautiful, growing, big touristic island on the south of Brazil, with an international market due to its privileged beaches and landscapes.  

On the first MeetUp we got a bigger audience than what we were expecting, that was a good surprise, to discover so many enthusiasts and curious people right in our neighborhood. What a great feeling was to see the faces fascinated with the discussion around all kind of topics surrounding Bitcoin. We encountered a diverse group, from newbies that only have heard the word Bitcoin her and there, to the crypto entrepreneur and traders. 

For our second edition we selected specific topics for our presentations and let the discussion guide the interest of the audience. Again, for our surprise, we have a bunch of new people, this time our gathering was a little bigger and more focus on the "making money" side of the technology. We had several softwares developers and entrepreneurs. During the discussion people talked about their on going crypto projects or ideas for future plans. The richness of these gatherings its tangible when you hear everybody interested in what the other have to say and how they can help each other. 

With this enthusiasm is inevitable to keep going with these summits. Our talks are getting more support and we are getting invited to expand this initiative. I am glad to see the excitement on everyone's faces and the support to make it grow further. See you guys on the next one and thank you all for coming!

Floripa: Ilha da Crypto Magía 

Nossa intenção com esta série de Meetups foi encontrar e organizar todo tipo de entusiasta que more o faz negócios na ilha de Florianópolis, estado de Santa Catarina, no sul do Brasil. A ideia parte da necessidade de educar e trazer os benefícios da tecnologia do blockchain ao contexto comercial de Floripa. 

Neste momento a ilha representa um dos maiores centros de empreendedorismo do país, convirtiéndose no lugar predilecto para startups e ideas revolucionarias. É assim como nossa experiência e expertise de negocios relacionados ao Bitcoin e Blockchain tem como visão educar e propiciar uma plataforma de vanguardia na ilha. 

Queremos trazer inovação na forma de fazer negócios em Floripa, e sobretudo moldar a infraestrutura comercial local de forma mas conveniente para aproveitar os benefícios da tecnologia do blockchain pode trazer para um mundo globalizado e contexto brasileiro.  

Palestras e Conversatorio

Nesta segunda edição tivemos duas palestras enfocadas sobre canais e ferramentas para ganhar dinheiro com a crypto economia além do trading. Tivemos uma audiência diversa, com caras novas e alguns já conhecidos, mas o interessante foi que tivemos uma turma de desenvolvedores muito interessados na tecnologia da blockchain e oportunidades que podem ser desenvolvidas aqui na ilha e no resto do Brasil. A discussão depois da palestra estive cheia de ideias de negócios e pessoas se ajudando com conhecimento de distintos setores e posibilidades de networking que podem beneficiar o crescimento de nossa incitativa.
