If this story is approached from an archetypal perspective, we can interpret that it speaks about dualism in men and women.
Si se aborda este cuento desde una perspectiva arquetípica, podemos interpretar que nos habla del dualismo en los hombres y mujeres.
According to this interpretation, there are in men and women two great forces that inhabit their interior, and it is necessary to re-know them to find the balance.
De acuerdo con esta interpretación, existe en hombres y mujeres dos grandes fuerzas que habitan en su interior, y se requiere re-conocerlas para encontrar el equilibrio.

In particular, traditional narratives and fairy tales have always seemed outdated to me as time goes on. However, this book has made me see with different eyes the way to interpret these narratives, from an archetypal point of view, and I have to admit that it is quite interesting.
Particularmente, las narraciones tradicionales y cuentos de hadas siempre me han parecido obsoletas conforme pasa el tiempo. Sin embargo, este libro me ha hecho ver con otros ojos la manera de interpretar dichas narraciones, desde un punto de vista arquetípico, y tengo que admitir que es bastante interesante.

As you know, I have been painting women with eyes "elsewhere", as a way of wanting to represent those other people's points of view, on the one hand, and also the ability to see beyond our nose. This is how after reading Manawee I wanted to paint that female duality, and in some way represent that each one of us is two women, with two different views of life but at the same time complementary. While reading this story and its archetypal interpretation, I couldn't help but compare duality with complementary colors in art: two totally opposite colors that go very well when they can be used in the same work.
Como saben, últimamente he estado pintando mujeres con los ojos " en otro lado", como una forma de querer representar esos puntos de vista ajenos, por una parte, y también la capacidad de ver más allá de nuestra nariz. Es así como después de leer Manawee quise pintar esa dualidad femenina, y de alguna manera representar que cada una de nosotras es dos mujeres, con dos miradas diferentes de la vida pero al mismo tiempo complementarias. Mientas leía este cuento y su interpretación arquetípica no pude evitar hacer la comparación de la dualidad con los colores complementarios en el arte: dos colores totalmente opuestos que van muy bien cuando se les sabe usar en una misma obra.

Espero que les guste esta pintura, representada de alguna manera como una carta de naipes, en la que una misma persona es dos, y estas dos conforman un todo.
