Últimamente he sentido un deseo bastante grande en querer maquillarme de nuevo, el maquillaje fue una pasión que me atrapo y se convirtió en algo que me propuse en perfeccionar, aunque no tuviera todos los materiales, pero me gustaría hacerlo tambien para tiktok, de una manera que no me de vergüenza, quizás maquillaje solo mostrando mis ojos estilo tutorial, asi no me daría tanta vergüenza… Siempre he querido subir mis maquillajes a tiktok pero nunca he tenido el carisma para hacer videos. Creo que pronto lo hare, pero debo pensar bien como seria la manera mas adecuada para adaptarme a esa red social sin sentirme demasiado expuesta jaja. Por eso decidí tomar mis brochas y esponjas y lavarlas… Llevo meses sin maquillarme y la ultima vez que lo hice fue finalizando el 2025, asi que tenían bastante polvo y suciedad de aquella vez que me maquillé.
Lately, I’ve really been wanting to start doing my makeup again. Makeup was a passion that grabbed me and became something I set out to perfect, even though I didn’t have all the supplies. But I’d also like to do it for TikTok—in a way that doesn’t make me feel self-conscious. Maybe just a tutorial-style eye makeup look, so I wouldn’t feel so embarrassed… I’ve always wanted to post my makeup looks on TikTok, but I’ve never had the charisma to make videos. I think I’ll do it soon, but I need to really think about the best way to adapt to that social media platform without feeling too exposed, haha. That’s why I decided to grab my brushes and sponges and wash them… I haven’t worn makeup in months, and the last time I did was at the end of 2025, so they had quite a bit of dust and dirt from that time I wore makeup.
Lavar mis brochas era una actividad que me gustaba mucho, me distraía y me gustaba ver como quedaban limpias, la espuma que, hacia cada brocha, siempre veía alguna serie mientras hacia esto y aunque no era facil era entretenido. Llevaba meses sin limpiarlas ya que deje de maquillarme y tambien tengo que organizar mi maquillaje ya que hoy note varias cosas que ya no funcionan y debo botar. Debo revisar mis paletas de sombras y reorganizar todo antes de comenzar con las ideas que tengo en mente. Por ahora comencé con este pequeño paso que había estado posponiendo desde hace semanas, enserio, todos los días pensaba en limpiar las brochas, pero al final buscaba excusas para retrasarlo.
Washing my brushes was something I really enjoyed; it kept me occupied, and I loved seeing how clean they got—the lather that formed on each brush. I’d always watch a show while doing this, and even though it wasn’t easy, it was fun. I hadn’t cleaned them in months since I stopped wearing makeup, and I also need to organize my makeup because today I noticed several items that no longer work and need to be thrown away. I need to go through my eyeshadow palettes and reorganize everything before I start working on the ideas I have in mind. For now, I’ve started with this small step that I’d been putting off for weeks—seriously, I thought about cleaning the brushes every day, but in the end, I’d always find excuses to delay it.
Para limpiar mis brochas utilizo este corazón de silicón que tiene texturas precisamente para limpiar brochas, lo suelo adherir de algún recipiente plano para poder lavar las brochas en la mesa que es más cómodo para mí, algunos lavan las brochas con jabón en barra o con jabón de lavaplatos, yo utilizo champú porque siento que es lo mas eficaz para sacarle el sucio rápidamente, pero no me funciona cualquier champú, en mi caso siempre uso head and shoulders que es el que le saca el color bastante rápido a mis brochas.
To clean my brushes, I use this silicone heart-shaped tool that’s specifically designed for cleaning brushes. I usually attach it to a flat container so I can wash the brushes at the table, which is more convenient for me. Some people wash their brushes with bar soap or dish soap, but I use shampoo because I feel it’s the most effective way to get the dirt out quickly. However, not just any shampoo works for me—I always use Head & Shoulders, which removes the color from my brushes pretty quickly.
Luego de lavarlas y retirar con agua el excedente de champú las dejo secar sobre una toalla y si es posible cerca de donde le pegue la luz del sol. Para las esponjas, caliento agua y las dejo remojar unos minutos. Luego le coloco champú y las exprimo hasta que el agua salga completamente limpia.
After washing them and rinsing off the excess shampoo, I let them dry on a towel, preferably in a spot where they get some sunlight. For the sponges, I heat up some water and let them soak for a few minutes. Then I apply shampoo and squeeze them until the water runs completely clear.
Mis esponjas estaban sumamente sucias, fue un poco asqueroso pero por suerte quedaron bastante limpias, espero pronto poder tomar este paso y retomar el maquillaje porque realmente me hace falta volver a mis hobbies y desconectarme un poco de la realidad tan absurda en la que vivimos.
My makeup sponges were filthy—it was a little gross, but luckily they came out pretty clean. I hope I can take this step soon and get back into makeup, because I really need to return to my hobbies and disconnect a little from the absurd reality we’re living in.
