The Lifestyle-Changing Brands
The Question
For some, eating healthy may be as much as a New Year's Resolution that lasts approximately four weeks, while for others it has become a career and/or lifestyle. Whether you lean closer to one side more than the other or fall somewhere in-between, it is important to note that regardless of any outstanding medical history, adopting conscientious eating habits has proven to be one of the most important life decisions you could make. I could continue on about how certain fruit juices provide the anti-oxidant capacity to rigorously combat heart disease, how sugar is the main food source of cancer cells that are tearing the human race apart, or how habitual exercise is nearly the only rival to the seemingly inevitable degeneration of muscle as people age. But I will focus on the task at hand, at least for this blog. Let's get to the topic of discussion!
There are many foods that we love to indulge in that may not necessarily be the best for us. But don't fear! There are brands out there that have utterly excelled in developing delicious alternatives. Right now I'm going to give you three brands to try out that each boast top nutrition facts when it comes to their respective food!
The Brands
PB2
Can't seem to get enough peanut butter but fear that the high saturated fat and sodium content may be dangerous to your health? You're not wrong. In fact, large amounts of saturated fat have been linked to heart disease and atherosclerosis. Despite the aforementioned, there are still beneficial aspects of this creamy concoction such as its high protein base and uncanny ability to keep you full for extended periods of time. What if I were to tell you that there is a peanut butter out there with 90% less fat, half the sodium, and nearly all the protein? Well get ready because it exists. And it's called PB2 Peanut Butter. It's a powdered peanut butter that just requires a little water and mixing for all the amazing benefits that follow! Be sure to give it a try! Not to mention, it comes in a chocolate peanut butter flavor that, dare I say, is healthy as well.
Fairlife Chocolate Milk
Generally, chocolate milk, albeit delicious, is loaded with sugars, and high in overall carbohydrates, which may deter some from the great post-workout recovery protein source it does provide. I was determined to debunk this conception and find a brand that possessed better statistics since I truly believe chocolate milk to be a near necessity when it comes to exercising. Enter Fairlife. Their chocolate milk nearly cuts the average amount of sugar and therefore overall carbohydrates in half! And it also has 13 grams of protein and double the amount of Vitamin A per serving! Thought that was all? Guess again. The milk is also lactose free, meaning even those who physically could not enjoy it now can! Next time you go to the grocery store, pick up a bottle - it tastes amazing too!
Amy's Frozen Pizza
Pizza. Frozen pizza at that. Need I say more? Before everyone goes ballistic about how horrible pizza is for you, let me commence by saying yes, habitual consumption of pizza is not good for you. This should be obvious. If you're trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle then ordering Pizza Hut twice a week definitely will set you back in a major way. However, if you are looking to "cheat" a little, or when it comes to this brand, "indulge slightly," you may feel a little less guilty. Amy's pizza immensely cuts the total and saturated fat amount of its competitors in order to boast elite pizza numbers! Sugar is kept to a minimum and protein is around 8 grams per slice. Aside from these nutrition facts, the pizza cooks extremely quickly and is also gluten-free and dairy-free!
Conclusion
In the end it's up to you to make the decision but hopefully these great brands give you a sense of what's out there! Just because some food you like isn't necessarily good for you does not mean that you can't explore different avenues. If you're a fan of any of these products or end up trying them please comment and let me know what you think. I love hearing from you all!
