Baghdad Battery or battery of Baghdad which is also sometimes referred to as the Parthian Battery, is the name given to a URN/Vase-shaped artifact that is estimated to date from the Parthian culture which flourished between 250 BC and 224 ad. This URN is high 13 cm. Inside there is a hollow copper pipe and a piece of iron that is neatly arranged. One end of the iron transferring into the mouth of the jar with the asphalt while the other glued together end to the base of copper. After World War II ended, Willard Gray, an engineer at General Electric High Voltage Laboratory in Massachusets, who read the writings of Konig immediately made a replica of the Baghdad Battery. To test this idea, in 1978, Dr. Arne Eggebrecht, Director of the Museum of the Roemer and Pelizaeus in Hildesheim made several replicas of the Baghdad Battery and Electroplating experiment.
