We got this dog from a stables where he was left to grow wild. He'd never been around people or traffic so going to a home was totally new to him.
When we got him home he followed the girls upstairs but couldn't work out how to come down so I spent a time carrying him down the stairs.
It took a long time for him to adjust to life in a family home but he is the best dog you could hope to have, great with kids but protective of our home. I've only ever had rescue dogs as they are far more loyal and loving, they know you chose to have them because they needed you.
The real thing though is over the last couple of years he has saved me and having him is the best medicine you could have.
