Recipe for making soft castella cake

- Prepare a sieve, then sift 70g of cake flour. After filtered add 2g salt.

- Prepare 70g of unsalted butter, then cut into pieces.


- Heat unsalted butter, after completely melted add 80 ml of milk.

- Then add the melted butter into the cake flour. Mix well.



- Add 5 egg yolks and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Mix well.

- Put 5 egg whites in a separate bowl. Add 1/4 tsp lemon juice. Then blend until frothy.



- Add 90g of sugar. Then blend until smooth.



- Mix the egg whites that have been in the blender earlier, into the cake flour mixture. Stir until evenly distributed.


- Put into the mold size 16cm. Add enough water to the pot for baking. Place in the oven at 150°C for 60 minutes.

Soft and sweet homemade castella cake is ready to serve.
