Some relationships in life are ones we embrace with all our heart. We trust them blindly sharing our happiness our secrets even our dreams with them. I too had a friend like that someone I thought was a true companion in my life. I believed he would stand by me through every hardship but sometimes a person can read faces yet fail to understand intentions.
Time went on and my faith in that friendship only grew stronger. I never once imagined that the same person would one day break my trust. But when the truth came out, my heart fell silent. His words his conversations and his friendship all started to feel like a painful betrayal. The deepest hurt was that the wound wasn’t given by an enemy but by someone close to me.
For many nights I kept wondering where I went wrong. Maybe I trusted people too much or maybe every smiling face isn't sincere. But then I realized that sometimes protecting your self respect matters more than saving a relationship. That’s why I quietly ended contact with him. I made no scene voiced no complaints I just distanced myself from a friendship that no longer had any truth left in it.
Ending the connection wasn’t easy because the memories were still there in my heart. But sometimes in life you have to leave certain people behind in order to move forward. Now I’m more cautious than before but not weaker. I’ve learned that not every close person is sincere and every betrayal doesn’t come to break you it comes to make you stronger.
Even today, when I think of that friendship my heart does feel a little sad but there’s no regret. Because when certain relationships end a person doesn’t fall apart they rediscover themselves.
