In human society certain principles and laws are established to maintain order and discipline and following them is necessary for every individual. Under these laws there are some tasks that require formal permission or a licence to carry out. Licence to do something meaning permission for a task is actually also a responsibility it makes a person capable of performing their work while staying within the boundaries of the law.
Obtaining permission or a licence for a task is a sign that the relevant person has the ability and competence to carry it out. For example a driving licence is necessary to drive a car which serves as proof that the driver is familiar with traffic laws and can drive safely. Similarly various professions also require permits to ensure quality and safety.
It’s also important that a licence or permission does not mean a person gets complete freedom to do whatever they want. Rather this permission grants the right to work while staying within certain limits. If someone crosses those limits they commit a violation of the law and can face punishment. That’s why having a sense of responsibility along with a licence is very important.
Licence to do something is not just a permit but also a trust that society places in an individual. Maintaining that trust is the responsibility of every person. If we understand our responsibilities and respect the laws society can become safer more organized and more prosperous.
