If nature walks, native wildlife, plants and waterfalls peak your interest; Queen Mary Falls is the place for you.
Queen Mary Falls is located within the Main Range National Park in Queensland, Australia. It is located roughly 10kms out of the small town of Killarney and about 165kms inland from the Gold Coast.
The falls are roughly 40m in height and were created by streams of water through the rock causing erosion. They generally flow all year round but they are much more impressive after some rainfall.
There is a carpark and picnic area located at the start of the trail which will take you around the top of the waterfalls. It will then snake around and take you to the bottom, you will likely get wet from the spray, before taking you back to the carpark in a closed circuit. Photo opportunities exist at the top and bottom of the waterfall.
The picnic area is often frequented by native birdlife that have become accustomed to humans which means they come pretty close.
Definitely a must visit if you want to escape into the countryside for a day or a weekend.
