This is one of the most popular and well known beach near Lisbon. It is only 30 min away by car, but its huge and so clean.
This is what I love about beaches in Portugal, they are clean and amazing and have the best waves ever!
We decided to walk down and explore a bit of the sand and the fresh air. The wind was very very strong and the water was very cold. Hive account@ivargereiko really wanted to go for a swim that day, but he didnt have a towel or swimming shorts in fact, so it was a tricky one!
He was extremely excited about the trip thou, as he hasn't seen ocean in his life and it has been a long time he was away by the sea. Just look at that grin!
Overall its a really great beach to go swimming or surfing, but the waves and wind was too strong, so the season for surfing was over. Not to mention it was pretty chilly outside!
Guincho Beach is a popular Atlantic beach located on Portugal's Estoril coast, 5 km from the town of Cascais, and is located in the municipality of Cascais, more precisely in the parishes of Cascais and Alcabideche, in the District of Lisbon. Guincho is nearby small villages like Areia, Charneca, Figueira do Guincho and historical Biscaia.

The beach, which has a shoreline of approximately 800 metres, has preferred surfing conditions and is popular for surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. Strong northern winds are predominant during summer time (June–August) as well as smaller north-west swells, making this beach ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing. During winter (especially December), the predominant winds are from the east, and swells increase in size, making it a perfect spot for surfing, with multiple beach-breaks providing powerful lefts and rights. There are also several surfcamps and surfschools in the area that provide accommodation and services including rentals, repairs and surfing classes.
