Kalanggaman Island, in Palompon, Province of Leyte, Philippines, is a remote treasure that is a 45-minute drive from the main land via boat. It has a length of only 753m but this island has a lot to offer! It has a crystal clear water, white powdery sand and long sand bars stretching to the both ends of the island.
Before deciding to go, you must first contact the Palompon Ecotours Office to reserve a slot for only 500 tourists is allowed to be in the island per day to preserve the beauty of the place. (It's a very good move)

15 pax - 3,000php
25 pax - 3,500php

Those expenses are all gonna be worth it when you are already in the island! You will experience a safe, calm and relaxing place. This island is suitable for a family gathering or any events specially if you are looking for a peaceful place to spend a holiday. For the tourists to feel secured, there is a tourist police stationed in the island.
There are no fancy restaurants in the place but you can buy fresh catch from the fishermen and cook it at the grilling station that is also available in the place. You cannot also find a costly hotels but instead you can rent for native huts, cottages, Tippi houses, tent or you may also bring your own tent.
There are a lot of activities that you can do in the island just like snorkeling, kayaking, aqua-biking, scuba diving, camping and of course swimming!
The best time to go in the island is during summer and be sure to be at the island at around 8-10 am for you to capture stunning photos for the light provided by the sun is perfect for your selfies and pictures of the island especially in it's long, beautiful sand bar.
When visiting the island, you must bring enough water for there is no drinking water in the island. You need also to bring power banks for there is an absence of electricity in the place.
