¿Cuántas veces no transitamos los días solo para marcarlos en el calendario? A menudo tenemos esa falsa sensación de que el tiempo es un recurso total e infinito. Postergamos y dejamos ir los momentos, nos atrapamos en la rutina de la cotidianidad. Mientras, esperamos la señal perfecta y esa señal parece que nunca va a llegar, o que se nos escapa justo ahí, en las manos. La verdad puede ser muy incómoda y la vida se encarga de recordárnosla una y otra vez, y nosotros nos encargamos de olvidar la lección a la misma velocidad que la aprendimos.
LAS OPORTUNIDADES NO SON PERMANENTES
Las oportunidades pasan por nuestra vida a gran velocidad, no esperan, son una ráfaga un instante, y cuando miras ya no hay oportunidad solo queda el: que pudo haber sido.
Por eso las personas que más administran o planifican las oportunidades terminan perdiéndola, terminan desaprovechándolas. Por eso es necesario que dejemos de pensar en el tiempo como algo desligado de la oportunidad. Los dos van de la mano y cuando se escapa uno, se lleva consigo el otro. No tienes el mismo tiempo, ni las mismas oportunidades que hace un año atrás, es difícil aceptarlo, pero lo sabes.
Cuántas cosas se tuvieron que unir y funcionar a la vez para que la oportunidad fuese viable, raramente volverá a repetirse todo del mismo modo. No puedes diseñar el escenario real de una oportunidad, porque es un fenómeno que no responde al diseño, por muchos años que pasen, por muchas variables que crees, incluso y tristemente, por mucho que trabajes duro, hay oportunidades que no se volverán a repetir, porque dependieron de una combinación de factores que solo estuvieron para ti por un instante: y lo dejaste ir.
No disfraces el miedo a equivocarte de prudencia, si dejas ir una oportunidad solo por eso estás usando la excusa de la precaución y eso se traduce en inmovilidad, no estás actuando porque no quieres salir de tu zona de confort: no mereces la oportunidad y esta se irá.
Siempre me llamó la atención eso, que la diferencia entre quienes aprovechan las oportunidades de la vida y quienes la dejan ir no es siempre la inteligencia o los recursos, si no la decisión de actuar o no ante lo nuevo, ante lo desconocido. Pero un consejo que me han dado las canas: intentarlo siempre va a doler menos que el dolor de recordar lo que pudo haber sido y no fue. Duele más recordar la oportunidad perdida que cualquier situación difícil donde nos ponga el alcanzarla. Una oportunidad que se pierde, es siempre un fracaso tangible, una pregunta de: y si... que nunca conoceremos su respuesta.
En el día a día muchos premian la preparación y el control absoluto, pero ¿por qué no dejarnos llevar? La vida real es una ruleta rusa, no una línea fija de acontecimientos, hay veces que debemos dejar la suerte fluir. Dejar atrás el miedo al ridículo, el miedo a la inversión sin retorno, al qué dirán los demás. Muchas veces las barreras más altas las construimos nosotros mismos. Una oportunidad muchas veces requiere escuchar el ritmo de nuestra vida, el que solo nosotros conocemos, confiar en nuestra capacidad de adaptación y lanzarse sin más lanzarse hacia la oportunidad, aunque parezca un vacío infinito, lanzarse solamente con la convicción de que la red se tejerá durante nuestra caída. No hay temeridad en el coraje inteligente.

Porque asumir esta filosofía de vida: LAS OPORTUNIDADES SON PARA APROVECHARLAS, implica también en mayor medida aceptar que la perfección no siempre es posible, que el mundo ideal no existe, mucho menos el momento ideal, no hay una versión más preparada para salir adelante que la versión que somos actualmente. En esta vida solo existe lo que hacemos con lo que tenemos, aquí y ahora.
Cada oportunidad es un regalo, pero también es un espejo y una vara para medir nuestras capacidades, limitaciones y posibilidades de adaptación, ¿por qué entonces desaprovecharla?
Quien espera a tener todas las respuestas antes de levantar la mano posiblemente no participará en el juego. Siempre hay alguien dispuesto a responder antes, aunque su respuesta tampoco sea la correcta.
Solo me queda decir que la vida son los instantes y aprovechas una oportunidad no garantiza el éxito pero si la satisfacción de quien intenta y no se queda sentado. ¡A por todas!

How often do we go through life just to mark the days on the calendar? We often have this false sense that time is a total and infinite resource. We postpone and let moments slip away, getting caught up in the daily grind. Meanwhile, we wait for the perfect sign, and that sign seems like it will never come, or that it slips right through our fingers. The truth can be very uncomfortable, and life makes sure to remind us of it again and again, and we forget the lesson as quickly as we learned it.
OPPORTUNITIES ARE NOT PERMANENT
Opportunities pass through our lives at breakneck speed; they don't wait, they're a fleeting moment, and when you look back, the opportunity is gone, only the "what could have been" remains.
That's why the people who most carefully manage or plan for opportunities end up losing them, they end up squandering them. That's why we need to stop thinking of time as something separate from opportunity. The two go hand in hand, and when one slips away, it takes the other with it. You don't have the same amount of time, nor the same opportunities, as you did a year ago. It's hard to accept, but you know it.
How many things had to come together and work simultaneously for the opportunity to be viable? It's rare that everything will ever be exactly the same again. You can't design the real scenario of an opportunity because it's a phenomenon that doesn't respond to design. No matter how many years pass, how many variables you create, even, sadly, no matter how hard you work, some opportunities will never come again because they depended on a combination of factors that were only there for you for a fleeting moment: and you let them go.
Don't disguise your fear of making a mistake as prudence. If you let an opportunity slip away simply because of that fear, you're using caution as an excuse, and that translates into inaction. You're not acting because you don't want to leave your comfort zone: you don't deserve the opportunity, and it will pass.
It has always struck me that the difference between those who seize life's opportunities and those who let them go isn't always intelligence or resources, but rather the decision to act or not in the face of the new, the unknown. But one piece of advice I've learned from experience is that trying will always hurt less than the pain of remembering what could have been but wasn't. It hurts more to remember a lost opportunity than any difficult situation that might have put us in trying to achieve it. A missed opportunity is always a tangible failure, a "what if..." question whose answer we'll never know.
In our daily lives, many people reward preparation and absolute control, but why not let ourselves go? Real life is a game of Russian roulette, not a fixed line of events; sometimes we must let luck take its course. We must leave behind the fear of ridicule, the fear of a risky investment, the fear of what others will say. Often, we build our own highest barriers. An opportunity often requires listening to the rhythm of our own life, the one only we know, trusting in our ability to adapt, and simply leaping toward the opportunity, even if it seems like an endless void, leaping only with the conviction that the safety net will be woven during our fall. There is no recklessness in intelligent courage.

Because embracing this philosophy of life: OPPORTUNITIES ARE MEANT TO BE SEIZED also implies, to a greater extent, accepting that perfection isn't always possible, that the ideal world doesn't exist, much less the ideal moment. There's no version of ourselves better prepared to succeed than the version we are right now. In this life, all that exists is what we do with what we have, here and now.
Every opportunity is a gift, but it's also a mirror and a yardstick to measure our abilities, limitations, and capacity for adaptation. So why waste it?
Those who wait to have all the answers before raising their hand will likely miss out on the game. There's always someone willing to answer first, even if their answer isn't the right one either.
All that remains for me to say is that life is made up of moments, and seizing an opportunity doesn't guarantee success, but it does guarantee the satisfaction of those who try and don't just sit idly by. Go for it!
