Many of you are new here. You all want to see success very soon and lack a lot of patience. Therefore my today's post is for those who are new to steemit and are still not aware of this platform how it works.
For newbies, it is very important to understand the concept of reward distribution and voting power.
First, let us talk about voting power.
To know your voting power you can simply check on a website known as www.steemd.com/@yourusername

This is a very important aspect for you guys initially. Because if you upvote someone having a good reputation and voting value with more than 60% voting power only then he might upvote you back(50% chances if your voting value is zero). Don't fall for groups of steemit with members more than 20-30 to 100-250. It is useless, they will share posts one by one and will ask you to upvote them and in return, they will upvote you. Most of them even won't upvote you back in return leading to draining of your voting power.
Now comes the point of reward distribution. Whenever you earn .01$, you should forget it. It will not be credited in your account as rewards are distributed in 3 forms i.e- steem, sbd and steempower. This will make you feel upset but that is how it works.
Wondering how will you earn then? Well, that is simple and easy. Initially, I would suggest save your votes for whales i.e people with more than 60 reputation. Search for new posts by people in any tag and upvote posts shared by a whale. Now it has a trick too- you need to scroll down your page and upvote only those posts which were posted around 20-30 minutes ago. This is because when they will earn money later their rewards will be distributed in three forms sbd, steem & steam power. This steem power is further distributed among people who have upvoted the post at the initial stage in some percentages. So always remember to upvote a whales post only after 20 to 30 mins so you have maximum percentage of share which will ultimately help you get more steem power which is very important for you to grow faster. Also, do not forget to comment on their post with relevance to the topic. Sometimes, whales too upvote your comment which will also help you to grow.
