Who had a GREAT 4th of July?! If you had a cookout like me, you probably had a great day!
We have a pretty large garden in our back yard, and we got our first crop of Jalapenos! We decided this would be a great time to try something new, so we went for it! These little guys are packed with flavor and were a huge hit with the family! It's only Jalapenos, cream cheese, shredded cheese, and bacon. SUPER EASY!
After going to the store and getting the rest of our ingredients, and I got to work. The first thing we did was cut the peppers in half lengthwise, then remove the seeds with a spoon.
Next, mix 1 cup of softened cream cheese and 1 cup of shredded cheese together. Then spread inside the pepper halves.
After that, WRAP IN BACON! Also, the heat of the pepper comes from it's seeds.
So if you want some of that heat back, we sprinkled crushed red pepper flakes over them.
You could also grind up the insides of the Jalapenos and mix it with the cream cheese mixture if you want.
We wanted the smokey flavor, so we put it on the grill! With it preheated, put them on the grill with a super serious face. (If you dont want to use a grill, go to next step.)
After getting a good smoke on them, we finished them off in the oven at 300 degrees until the bacon was crispy.
And that's it! A super easy appetizer for any event!
