When we do good to others, we not only bless them, we also position ourselves to receive God's unmerited favor, mercy and miracles. Throughout Scripture, we see this truth demonstrated. An instance is the Zarephath widow who was sustained during famine. Another instance is The Shunammite woman who received the miracle of a child and later saw him raised from the dead.
We also see the case of Dorcas [Tabitha], who ministered to believers and by so doing experienced the mercies of God because they cared for others.
Every act of good or kindnesses we show to people matters to God. As we do good to the brethren we should also extend it out homes, workplaces, communities and everyday interactions.
