Hi Steemit. My name is Alison, you can call me Aly. I am currently in my twenties, working in a Virtual Reality start up with focus on conducting VR, AR workshops (on a beginner level). Playing PC online games have always been my go-to activity when I just want to relax and unwind. :)
I first heard about Steemit during a conversation I had with an acquaintance a month back, and he encouraged me to check this site out. So here I am, exploring and discovering the site. :)
Now, a little back story as to why I'm starting this blog. Last year, for most part of it, I felt pretty down as everything felt so dry, mundane and I'm just going through the motions. Things felt pretty meaningless, life was boring, I was constantly searching for more reason, more meaning. I had a lot of questions and didn't know what direction I wanted to head towards. I had a lot of mental energy, but nowhere to expend it. This made me drained and unhappy. At the same time, I was afraid to try new things - I found a million and one ways to shut down any ideas I had cause I could see all the ways it could go wrong. Definitely not a good way to be living life!
After that stagnant year, I've decided to snap out of it, and start by taking baby steps to push myself out of my comfort zone. The first step would be to crawl out of my little "cave", explore things, experience life and document it through blogging.
I plan to share about my experiences with apps, games, random experiences, travel, books, cooking, basically anything, so long as I'm trying something new for myself, or solving an issue I have. I will start with just some photos and text, and perhaps in future I'll start posting videos to make the posts more engaging/entertaining.
I hope that through my experience with posting on Steemit, I'll learn a thing or two, improve myself, make some new friends and somehow (hopefully) through the process, bring something to the table for you guys as well. :)
I'll commit to posting at least once a week, would love to get to know some of you, thanks for reading! :)
