We all know Hive is not a writing station but it is a social media platform. The success here doesn't depend merely on the quality of your content. Instead, the quality and strength of our relationship with the members of the platform matters the most. We add value to other people's content by reading and interacting with them in the comment section. In return we gain visibility on the platform, new connections are build, our followership is likely to increase, the readership for our own blog increases, and of course author rewards are also likely to be increased.
The path is simple (I am not saying Easy š¤Ŗ). We visit people's post. We like their content and want to build our connection with them. We click the follow button. Now whenever they publish a post, it appears in our following feed. This way, we keep informed about their latest publication and can interact to strengthen our bond.
The story is just fine till here, but when the number of our following increases there are more posts in our feed and posts from some of our most favorite authors (whom we don't want to miss) bury under the piles of the newly published posts of some other authors. Not only this but our following feed also include the reblogged posts; and some of our followings are a way too much into reblogging. Consequently, we miss the posts of those whom we don't want to miss.
For keeping the track of our favorite authors is to mark them favorite and get their posts in the favorite feed. I have used Peakd and Ecency front-end. Ecency sends notification whenever a favorite author publishes a post, while peakd provides a separate feed for favorite authors.

So far as favorite authors are concerned, now it's easy to be aware of their publication by marking them favorite. Nevertheless, we don't always want to keep the track of an author because of being favourite. Sometimes, we have some other reasons. Such as following a community account for being updated about new contest, keeping an eye on someone we onboarded, supporting newbies etc. etc. At times, we just want to track people for a short time without given them a follow.
For such a thing peakd provides an amazing feature that helps us updated about people's posts without even following them or putting them in favorite list. The option is named as LIST. By using this option, we can categorise people into different groups, and see the posts of all in one single feed.
Here is the method of how to create a list and people into it.
Go to the person's profile page and click the box with three dots. A drop down menu will open. Click the option Add/Remove from Lists.

A dialogue box will appear.

Write the name of the list you want to create. Then click the Add button.

A new list will appear

Click the small box against the list you want to put the account in.

The list is created and the account is added to it. Now, how will you access the list.
Click the three lined icon on the top left of your profile page.

A drop down menu will appear. Click the option List. Another menu with the names of the lists will open.

Click the name of the list. The posts of people in the list will appear in the feed.
This way you can create many lists and add people to it. When you want to remove someone from the list, you can do it by the same option with which you had added them i.e. Add/Remove from Lists
