Imagine it and you will receive it.
Last night while flipping through Netflix I decided to watch "The Secret". I've seen it a few years ago, and since then I have done my fair share of research on The Law of Attraction and how it all works. It might be because a few days ago I created a vision board for 2018, but I felt inspired to re watch it as a refresher.
One of the main points they mentioned in the movie was writing down the things you are grateful for every day. I realized that I already do this. I purchased a book called "The 5 minute journal" a couple years ago and have been filling it in every day (well, almost every day.) It says in the book to fill in a page every morning before getting out of bed (which some mornings takes motivation to do when I slept in and need to get up) and also every night before sleep. I've been doing it for the past 2 years now and it's sort of become such a habit that I haven't even noticed this one amazing thing I've been doing that has affected me in manifesting my desires.
This morning I started flipping through, back to the beginning of starting the book and analyzing what I wrote down.
One week into my daily gratitude I saw a huge thing that had happened. I was about to start a new semester at school at the time and wouldn't know anyone. I wrote down that I was grateful for the 2 amazing friends I had met at school. I am pretty shy and have a hard time speaking to anybody new and building friendships that way. I knew it was going to be hard for me. I wrote that down and forgot about it and started school a couple of weeks later. There I met these 2 girls in my class, who started off by smiling at me, and then seeing them before leaving class we would randomly say bye to one another. I remember one class they both came and sat next to me, and we started hanging out during breaks and even after school. I never realized that I had actually created these friendships by writing down that I was grateful for it before it even happened. They were the only people I talked to the entire 2 years I was in school! (Yes, I am very shy!) I am still shocked that I wrote that down and it happened, not just 1 friend.. but 2, exactly as I wrote it.
Then I also noticed another thing. I had been dreaming about buying myself a new car. I knew there were many options for purchasing a car such as leasing, and paying for it monthly, etc. But in my desires I wanted to be able to pay for a call in full and have no debt. No idea how that would happen since I only had about 1/2 of the amount I needed in my savings. I still wrote down "I am grateful for my abundance and being able to purchase a car in full" in my journal one day, and then forgot about it since I wasn't too sure it would happen and I still needed time to save. A few months later, my dad emailed me that he had just sold my grandfathers home and had extra money and wanted to gift me some. He sent me the exact other amount I needed for a car, without knowing my desires to pay for one in full. I was able to reach my desires and I wrote it down that I would before it even happened.
There were even smaller things I wrote in there, such as being grateful for passing an exam one morning (which I didn't even study for and ended up passing somehow), to even being grateful for the new dresser I had, which was something I wanted, but a nice one costs around $300! A few months later I found the perfect dresser on sale 50% off and had a gift card to that exact store which I didn't use yet so I paid almost nothing for the dresser. Pretty amazing to look back and see all these little things I wished for, wrote down as having and being grateful for and then receiving.
I usually do write in actual things I am grateful for, but sometimes I do throw in things I wish to have in present terms of being grateful for already having them. Time passes and I forget I even wrote them down, but it seems they always manifest somehow. Realizing this now I want to start writing down my desires with intention, and not just something I write then forget about. I feel gratitude really does help you achieve your goals! I want to continue doing this and being fully aware of it to create more of what I want. It seems so simple!
Writing down gratitude also helps shift your focus right in the morning. It helps you wake up feeling positive, and going to bed thinking of all the things you are grateful for that happened that day (even if it's eating a tasty burger for lunch.) To anyone who wants to start daily gratitude I would highly recommend it. You WILL become a happier person, and if you also include your wishes in there in present terms it can help you achieve your goals as well. The specific journal I use is called "The 5 Minute Journal" and can be found here but you can also even do it with any notebook. Positive mind, positive life they say.
You can start right now! What are 3 things you are grateful for in your life? What is 1 thing you desire to happen? Write it down or even imagine and think of it in your head as something you already have and are grateful for. I can guarantee you will get it!
