American writer George Sanders has been awarded the 2017 Man Booker Prize for his novel 'Lincoln in the Bardo. George, who received the Booker Award, is the second American. Earlier in 2016, Paul Betty became the first American to win the Booker Prize.
This novel, which is the sequel to the death of Abraham Lincoln's 11-year-old son, Ville, with the help of hundreds of fictional stories, was judged by the judges as "the whole new one". Lola Young, the decisive British award given for the best novel of English, said, "The style of this novel reveals a completely new, intelligent, funny and touching story."
On the announcement of his name for the Man Booker Prize, Sanders (58) said, "It is a matter of great respect for me. I hope that in my books that will come forward, I will be able to maintain its dignity. ' Sanders has also done journalism with writing many short stories and children's books. He has also been honored with the Academy Award in 2009.
Commenting on Trump's policies, Sanders said in reference to US President Donald Trump's controversial policies, "We are living in a very strange period. Now there are lots of things to save your culture in America. Today I am being given a prize in the UK. This is the union of culture. '
