It's green smoothie time on my side of the world! Green smoothies are an awesome way to sneak leafy greens into your daily diet. Though adding greens to smoothies can sometimes taste like there is a grassy knoll hiding in your breakfast, if you get the ingredients and amounts right these green morning drinks taste so good.
Green smoothies are nothing new. We have been drinking one every day for the past 5 or 6 years. While you can buy a slurp-worthy spinach or red beet smoothie in the supermarket, making your own is so much better and cheaper. You control the ingredients and you can make flavor adjustments to your family needs. No added sugar, preservatives or anything else you’d like to monitor more closely.
If you haven't jumped on the green smoothie hype just yet, now might be the time. If you are just new try the following ratio to make sure it doesn't taste too green: 2 cups leafy greens/3 cups fruits of your choice/2 cups liquid base of your choice. This makes about a 32 ounce or 1-liter smoothie which is enough to serve 2 people for breakfast.
Also, to make sure you make a filling smoothie, don't forget to add some fats and protein too. This can be in the form of an avocado, oats, seeds, nuts, coconut milk or coconut oil.
Later you can tweak this basic recipe by adding more greens and other veggies such as carrots, red beets or broccoli.

2 cups grapes
1 cup peaches
