You may have noticed that I am a huge fan of hemp hearts. Not only are they a yummy addition to my morning green (or any other color) drinks, they house a wide range of good-for-us nutrients.
For starters, they are a complete protein. Meaning they contain adequate amounts of all nine essential amino acids necessary for the dietary needs of humans. Hemp hearts also contain the essential fatty acids omega 3 and omega 6 and are a good source of both soluble and insoluble fiber.
They are also packed with vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, B1, B2, D, and E, as well as the minerals calcium and iron.
Hemp seeds contain 25 percent complete protein, 35 percent fatty acids and 27 percent complex carbohydrates. Unlike energy bars which contain fillers like sugar and saturated fats, hemp hearts provide long-lasting energy without other stimulants like caffeine and sugar.

Hemp-Infused Energizing Tropical Carrot Lassi
Ingredients
- 1/2 avocado
- 1 big carrot
- 3 passionfruit
- 1 mango
- 1 cup papaya
- Fresh mint leaves to taste
- Freshly grated ginger to taste
- 1/2 cup homemade cultured coconut yogurt
- Water as needed
- 2 tbsps hemp hearts
Directions
- Add all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Add more water if the smoothie is to thick for you.
- Top with hemp hearts or other superfoods/topping you like. Or blend them together with the other ingredients.
