So in typical Nova Scotian style, we've got a snow day today!
That means I'm trapped at home with three little boys and a whole lotta energy...
And there's still the usual morning chores to do.
#WalkWithMe into the blowing snow as I greet the chickens for the day.
Taking in the snowy scenery with a panoramic shot of the view from my front lawn
Up the back hill to the snow covered coop!
I'm bringing up this box of ashes from the woodstove, for the chickens to have a dust bath in today. I've added some garden sulphur powder to help kill any lice. Very effective way to control external parasites on chickens without harmful chemicals!
Crisscross Rosie2 and Broody Dalle <3
"Why you all up in ma face when I'm getting my feed on??"
Back down the hill, I hide out under the branches of a big tree for a minute to appreciate the beauty of this chilly day a moment longer, enjoying the tranquility of the falling snow
The trunk of the tree I'm standing by, you can see the freezing oozing sap from where we cut the bottom branches...
Back inside with the boys, they've already got the music going!
After I thaw myself out a little it's time for...
A dance party!!!
Our jambox makes pretty lightshows for fun selfies :)
I hope you enjoyed my walk today. I have to head back out there now to check on the chickies again, the boys are still over there dancing their little butts off!!
