Many anarchist capitalists have been asking and getting confused about this, today I will clear it up.
What is private property?
Private property is something you own but somebody else labors on and you gain some or most of it. For example the large business you work for, everything in it is private property. They only make money by having enough money to pay for it.
What is personal property?
Personal property is stuff that you use and own, simple as that. Your car, house, toothbrush, computer and furniture are all examples of this. Socialists and communists do not want to take this stuff.
Why do communists and socialists want to abolish private property?
We see the fact of working on something and getting a majority of what you produce taken away repulsive. You dislike taxes we dislike profit off the work of others, this includes taxes.
We call private property the means of production because that is what it is.
Before capitalists and feudalists got a hold of private property nobody owned it and everyone kept what they themselves produced. All we wish is to go back to a system where we keep what we make. Capitalists in opposing this oppose anarchism. Owning land and taking most of what somebody produces on it by force is not anarchist.
A slave is no less a slave if he gets to choose his master.
