Friends, I hope you're ready for a new drawing because today I'm bringing you a new one. Today's drawing is of a drum from Rising Star, I'm referring to the Timpani. You can find it in the instruments section with the identification number E126. This drum is quite curious because it has some features I haven't seen on other drums of its type. Don't worry, I'll tell you about them in a moment.😅
If you look at the deck I left at the end, you'll see it has a cup shape; I'd say it resembles a calis. I won't keep you waiting long; I already mentioned that it has an interesting function. Well, this drum is played with drumsticks, which isn't very unique, right? Many drums are played with drumsticks. But here's where it gets interesting because it's related to that. On the bottom of the drum, there's a pedal. When this pedal is pressed, it stretches the leather surface above it, which is what the drumsticks touch. What this achieves is that you can change all the notes.
As you can see, I wasn't lying. This is a unique feature I haven't seen on other drums. In fact, it's the only one I know of where you can change the pitch while playing. There are others where you can adjust the membrane, but only before playing. But this one is in real time. I really find it very interesting; I don't know about you. In fact, if you'd like, you can tell me if you know of one that's the same or similar in this way.
Well, friends, up to this point, you've seen the entire creation process while we were talking. Now I'll show you the finished piece and some of the materials used in its construction.
Thank you, friends, for joining me for another drawing. I'll be back soon. A big hug. I love you all very mush.
