On this day, 3 years ago, I was in England to take part of the European championship that was organized there. We were very lucky but also very skilled and we won the bronze medal for Greece.
It was not the first time that I participated in a championship, not even the first time I won a medal, but it was my first time that I was playing while being sick. I remember very well that the night before the championship began, I fell ill. I remember that when the doctor told me that it is better that I do not play tomorrow, I was really desperate because I really wanted to participate in the championship.
That night i did not sleep all night. In the morning my coach came in my room and told me "I know you are sick, but we have prepared a year and a half for this day and then I think you have to play even if you are sick, because this is the what a paralympic athlete will have to do. You have to play and give the best of yourself even if you're sick, because I believe in you Anna". At that time it was as if the words of my coach woke me from a deep dream and so I decided to play that day and I gave my best and I did the impossible, possible. When I won the medal I realized that if you want to do something you will do it in any circumstances, because if you want, you can.
