Hello friends, have a good night and I hope you enjoyed your day. I wanted to let you know that one of the reasons I've been a bit absent is that I've been quite busy with work these past few days and haven't had time to show you my sewing projects and creations. As you'll see, I want to share the creative process behind this lovely elegant dress that I made super quickly for a special meeting tomorrow. It really deserved the dress since it's a special occasion, and I always want to look my best for those occasions. I don't usually own very elegant dresses, but I felt like I needed one. I wasn't sure what fabric print to buy, so I went with my favorite colors, mainly black. That's how I came across this polka dot fabric. I hope you like the final result of the dress; I'm completely satisfied with it.

Paso 01
Step 01
Well friends, the truth is I didn't really have any idea what kind of dress I wanted to make, so I went to Pinterest and a bunch of ideas popped up and I didn't know which one to choose. So, to avoid stressing myself out, I decided on a semi-bell skirt with a princess-style bodice and a square neckline. So I proceeded to cut the pieces using a reference measurement—in this case, another dress I had—and cut the pieces I was going to use.
Paso 02
Step 02
After cutting my pieces, I proceeded to sew each one in place. I made the bust piece first since I knew it would take me much longer. I sewed the chest piece with a straight stitch, then the edge with an overlock stitch. Next, I joined the back piece, leaving an opening for the zipper, which we will sew after attaching the skirt. I sewed the shoulder piece and then the sleeve. This process is very simple, so as we sew, we finish the edge with an overlock or zigzag stitch. I also sewed black bias tape to the dress with the extra black fabric scrap I had at home. I made it square; I came up with this idea later because it was quick.
Paso 03
Step 03
I proceeded to sew the zipper on the back, then I folded the sleeves of the dress inwards and sewed the hem of each one.
Paso 04
Step 04
Finally, I sewed the hem of the dress 2 cm below our hem and added a very beautiful detail on the front: a bow with a black microfiber fabric ribbon. With this, I finish my dress.

It looks very pretty and elegant because of how quickly I sewed it, so I can finally enjoy wearing it comfortably for my meeting tomorrow ☺️😁 I hope you liked it a lot and that you'll help me share this tutorial and save it in case you want to make your own elegant dress yourself. Best regards, and I wish you a happy rest until my next easy sewing blog post at home. See you soon, friends!
