Our focuses on a number of issues, especially our response to God's word and the ungodly around us. God's word gives us hope, comfort and vitality ( Psalm 119:49, 50 & 52 ). It is our song and regular meditation theme ( 119: 51, 55 ). In verse 57, the Psalmist declared, " You are my portion, O Lord", and he made a firm resolution to obey God even in the midst of wicked ( verse 69 -61 ). Ungodly people in his community derided him, but he refused to join them. Rather, he befriended people who loved and feared God (Psalm 119:51, 53, 63 ). He was conscious of his way of life, and prayed regularly ( Psalm 119:55, 59, 62 ).
We must spend time with the word of God and be blessed. We need to study the word of God always for our spiritual enrichment. We should make God our portion, asking Him to teach us His ways. ( Psalm 119:57, 64 ).
We should begin now to set out a specific time each day for being with the Lord to read, listen to and study His word. In this way, our prayers for favour, mercy and other blessings, shall have sure answers.
