A few months ago I took a small tour through one of Puebla, Mexico´s most famous antique markets and it had a great response from the Steemians who read the post. Imagine my surprise when I found out there was a very similar market in the middle of Moscow where a lot of my fellow World Cup atendees bought most of the souvenirs they took back home for their families and loved ones.
I was dubious to make a post about Izmailovo, mainly because it seemed to me too simple and perhaps not interesting enough but I gave it a second thought and you know what, perhaps for me its simple because I´m used to flea markets and antique shops but who knows, maybe you are not so used to this kind of places and you´ll enjoy this mini tour around this famous antique/souvenir market.
The entrance to the market looks like a small castle or an attraction park, giving the visitor the sensation of entering a magical place
I went there very early on a rainy day but still, there was a lot of people already there looking for some bargains
These are called Matriushkas, those famous fatty women shaped boxes containing smaller fatty women boxes that contain an even smaller fatty women boxes and so on... you get the drill. Well, these were the most commong souvenirs I found across the market and in several shops
Russian hats everywhere, and cheap also! I bought one of those black puffy hats called Ushanka and another army hat called Pilotka. I only Spent 13 dollars in both... what a bargain huh?
Apparently wooden spoons and forks are a thing in Russia... so many sizes and shapes
I hope you liked this Photo Gallery! I wanted to take pics of people like in the Mexicna market Gallery but it was pretty hard this time because I didnt brought my camera, I took all the pictures with my phone.
